Night of the Guitar

A celebration of the most popular musical instrument in the world.

Join us for an eclectic mix of musical styles as we present a selection of top class musicians including Classical and Flamenco guitarist Dale Harris, Grammy Award Winning musician Amrit Sond and Andy Prince who is one of the foremost exponents of the Chapman Stick with one more artist to be announced.

Dale Harris is an English guitarist whose transcriptions of works such as Richard Wagner’s German opera ‘Tristan And Isolde’ and Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ are fast contributing to his reputation as a heavyweight arranger-performer in the solo-guitar world., Dale has performed with The Lorne Gibson Trio, and Sir Cliff Richard.

Grammy Award Winning Amrit Sond has graced the same billing as some of the world’s most renowned guitarist’s on the scene today. His unique contemporary instrumental music draws on elements of World Music, Jazz, Classical, Folk, Rock and New-Acoustic Techniques (two-handed tapping and percussive slaps), all honed into a highly refined and melodically driven compositional approach.

Joining them on the night will be experienced bassist and composer Andy Prince, who writes and performs evocative melodic neo-classical instrumentals on the Chapman stick, a ten-string instrument with over a five-octave range, which is played by tapping rather than strumming. His music is meditative, healing and passionate and his performances are enthralling, atmospheric and moving.
