Our Court In Session Songwriter Series continues with Sam Lunn, Dany Hearn and Craig Joiner.
Originally hailing from Helmsley in North Yorkshire, Sam takes influence from his formative years around the North York Moors. Growing up listening to artists such as Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead - he blends together a unique style of alternative folk and progressive-rock that is hard not to be drawn into. Mostly playing solo, but has been known to appear with supporting musicians and has even taken to the stage accompanied by Jack Casady of “Jefferson Airplane” and "Hot Tuna." Sam is now writing and recording at his home in Oxfordshire.
"Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake are certainly influences here, a lesson in dynamics." - Lee Davies
Diverse, melodic, dynamic, inventive, emotive, angry, happy, sad, honest and sometimes just plain eccentric, Dany Hearn is a wordsmith and songwriter with a lifetime catalogue of original music featuring stories of love lost and found, adventures in time and space, and state-of-the-world commentary — all written with honesty, sensitivity, sincerity and passion.
Despite having been a professional musician for over 25 years and having written songsthat have been recorded by the likes of Heart, Bonnie Tyler, Eddie Money and Steps, and had his songs used in major Hollywood movies such as ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘102 Dalmatians’ and ‘Jack Reacher’, Craig Joiner has only just released his first ever solo album. The first single to be taken from the stunning album ‘Art of Landing’, is Craig’s beautiful cover of the John Martyn classic ‘May You Never’.
.... " take it from me that what you hear on the recording is what you get live – a fantastic vocal range and clarity, great guitar playing" Clive Batkin-Unicorn Magazine.
