This month our Court In Session: Windsor Guitar Nights features Sloth In The City, Garry Smith and Drawing Faces. Celebrating diversity and promoting new talent in acoustic guitar music, check out the clip below from last month's session.
Partners in life and in music, Sloth In The City like experimenting with opposites: acoustic yet powerful, lyrical yet raw, novel yet relatable. Inspired by jazz as well as Mediterranean folk and contemporary percussive acoustic genres, Betty's soprano saxophone and Andrea's guitar will deliver a mix of styles that will appeal to a wide audience.
Garry Smith is on a mission to take slide guitar out of the Blues ghetto with his own songs and instrumentals. “…A superb technical player and squeezes some beautiful sounds out of his National Resophonic guitar. But what really sets him apart from most British blues players is his quirkily original songwriting…” Joe Cushley, Resonance 104.4 FM presenter.
Drawing Faces is the project of Julian Krispel, a Brighton based singer songwriter hailing from Austria. His sound has been likened to Jeff Buckley, Leif Vollebekk, Gregory Alan Isakov, Nick Drake, Shakey Graves, Tom Waits, John Martyn. Expect folk melodies, the vocal delivery of a split personality, foot stomping, top of the lung howling and a very rhythmic blues guitar.
