This month our Court In Session: Windsor Guitar Nights features John Wheatcroft, Sean de Burca and Rory Evans.
Guitarist John Wheatcroft seamlessly integrates the sound and approach of modern jazz with the timeless Franco-American swing of the legendary Django Reinhardt, producing a sound that is both rooted in the traditions of the genre and vital, forward-thinking and is highly original. This evening John will be performing a solo mix of original compositions and compelling arrangements with improvisation to the fore. This promises to be an event not to be missed.
Sean de Burca
Sean de Burca is a percussive acoustic guitarist from Kent, who utilises every part of the guitar and various effects pedals to create soaring, upbeat instrumental songs with guitar body percussion and fretboard tapping. By 2014, having played the guitar for just 7 years, he was named as one of the top 30 acoustic guitarists under the age of 30 worldwide by Acoustic Guitar Magazine (USA), as well as being featured as Acoustic Magazine's (UK) 'Next Big Thing'.
"From harmonics to percussive slapping to agile fretboard dancing, this southpaw knows a thing or two about getting the most sound possible out of his guitar. On his three full-length releases on Bandcamp, the self-taught guitarist shows he isn’tafraid of taking risks." - Acoustic Guitar Magazine 2014.
World class fingerstyle guitar player Rory Evans has played over 1000 gigs over the last 10 years across many countries.
Mike Dawes "Rory Evans is the real deal and plays way beyond his years. Not only has he mastered the blistering techniques of his peers, he performs with precision, charisma and a musicality that is only present in the absolute top level of guitar players."
